Solution Engineering Lead

About the role

The Solutions Engineering Lead is the primary customer-facing architect, responsible for translating the warfighter's complex mission needs into feasible, end-to-end technical solutions on the War Data Platform. This person will work directly with mission owners and the ""Solution Consultant"" team during the intake process to understand requirements, design solution blueprints, and ensure the proposed approach effectively leverages the WDP's existing services and capabilities. They will design the high-level integration patterns, data flows, and service compositions required to solve a specific mission problem, providing the detailed architectural guidance necessary for development teams to begin implementation.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex mission needs into feasible, end-to-end technical solutions on the War Data Platform.
• Work directly with mission owners and the Solution Consultant team during the intake process to understand requirements, design solution blueprints, and ensure the proposed approach effectively leverages the WDP's existing services and capabilities.
• Design high-level integration patterns, data flows, and service compositions required to solve a specific mission problem.
• Provide detailed architectural guidance necessary for development teams to begin implementation.

Requirements

• Candidates must meet one of the following three areas:
• Advanced Degree: Master’s degree or Ph.D. in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Software Engineering.
• Equivalent Training: Completion of one of the following accepted training programs: 4-11-C22 (CP), 4-11-C23, Systems Requirements Planner (Advanced) Playlist.
• Professional Certification: Holding one of these certifications: SecurityX / CASP+, GCSA, GSLC.
• 10+ years of experience in Engineering.
• Knowledge of Cloud, DevSecOps, Software Engineering.
• Experience solutioning with Data & AI.
• 3 years of experience in implementing Big Bang, Iron Bank, and/or Kubernetes/Docker.
• 3 years of experience in implementing DevSecOps pipelines in AWS or Azure.
• Possess expert knowledge designing end-to-end technical solutions for enterprise customers.

Qualifications

• Active Secret, Top Secret, TS/SCI, or TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required, depending on position.

Benefits

• Base pay range for this position in the specified locations is $135,200 - $278,500 USD.

Pay

• Base pay range for the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland is $135,200 - $278,500 USD.
