About the Role
This is a pre‑sales, solution‑architecture, and consultative position on a new Security specialist team. Paired one‑to‑one with a Specialist Account Executive (AE), you own the technical win—architecture, demos, proofs of concept, and credibility in the technical room—while the AE owns the commercial relationship. You will design and defend ransomware‑recovery, immutability, or identity‑resilience architectures and translate them into business cases that executives can buy.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the technical win in every Security deal you support—discovery, solution design, demos, and proof of value—partnered with the Specialist AE who owns the commercial close.
- Serve as the security architecture SME on ransomware‑recovery design, immutable/air‑gapped vaulting, identity resilience, and Data Security Posture Management (DSPM), credible with CISOs, VPs of Security, or their architects.
- Architect reference architectures and lead technical workshops, POCs, and pilots that validate ransomware‑recovery and identity‑resilience use cases across regulated industries.
- Build executive‑quality technical narratives—including solution briefs, architecture diagrams, and business cases—specific to each account.
- Understand each account’s technology footprint and collaborate with the security partner ecosystem on joint solutions and technical co‑sell.
- Feed field feedback into the product roadmap and support disciplined deal hygiene—accurate technical qualification and honest POC exit criteria.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of pre‑sales engineering and architecture experience in security.
- Hands‑on experience designing or deploying ransomware‑recovery architectures, immutable/air‑gapped backup solutions, or identity‑resilience (AD/Entra ID recovery) systems, with a strong infrastructure background (backup/recovery, storage, hybrid‑cloud).
- Working knowledge of Active Directory / Entra ID architecture and core security concepts—ransomware kill chains, immutability, air‑gapping, zero trust—and scripting/API proficiency (Python, PowerShell) for demos and POCs.
- Excellent communication skills; able to simplify complex concepts for technical and executive audiences and comfortable operating in a co‑sell/specialist model.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support decision‑making.
- Professional English language proficiency for customer and internal communication.
- Ability to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior specialist or overlay SE/SA experience at a data‑infrastructure, backup, or cybersecurity vendor, including validating ransomware‑recovery or identity‑resilience use cases in regulated industries.
- Existing technical relationships or direct competitive experience in the backup, cyber‑resilience, or data‑security markets—aligned with your territory.
Performance Metrics
- Technical win rate on the deals you support, and influenced revenue and pipeline progression across your territory.
- Quality and reuse of the assets you produce, and the services/multi‑phase attach they help generate.
- Field collaboration with your paired Specialist AE, and partner co‑sell results.
- Technical qualification quality and POC/forecast reliability.
