Solution Architect - Oracle EBS

About the role

The Solution Architect - Oracle EBS is responsible for assessing, defining, and championing IT architecture strategies, principles, policies, and standards in alignment with the IT strategy. They coordinate with project teams to create, document, assess, and/or validate application and infrastructure solution designs for specific systems.

Responsibilities

• Research, evaluate, and select application, technology, and infrastructure standards.
• Analyze the technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
• Create project and technology roadmaps and define migration plans to mitigate gaps between the current and future state.
• Develop standards for specific functions or technology domains and define design patterns and configurations that can be reused as building blocks for other solutions.
• Lead and facilitate the creation of governing principles to manage change and guide solution decisions for the enterprise.
• Maintain positive relationships with IT and business leaders to effectively promote and communicate IT architecture value proposition.
• Collaborate with IT stakeholders to apply IT strategy to architecture future state architecture and develop roadmaps to realize future state.
• Define and ensure effective metrics to measure standards adoption, reuse, and demonstrate value.
• Maintain knowledge of emerging technology and software trends focused on driving comparative advantage for CMI.
• Cultivate strong relationships with industry experts; participate and may present at conferences and round tables.
• Perform complex cost/benefit analysis when researching future state capabilities.
• Coach and mentor less senior Architects.
• Collaborate with project teams to understand requested capabilities and recommend the right set of technologies to meet the needs.
• Provide infrastructure capacity recommendations for new applications and systems.

Requirements

Significant relevant experience required. 5-7 years of experience. Must have experience in more than one module of Oracle EBS and be capable of speaking to how pieces of technology can be used to build the solution that is needed. Not responsible for working with developers but providing information on how the technologies that Cummins wants to use can be harnessed to solve the business problem at hand.

Qualifications

College, university, or equivalent degree in Information Technology, Business or a related subject required.
