This role combines solution architecture, end-to-end architecture, and integration leadership to support the implementation and evolution of a global Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM) platform for Oil Liquids trading. The architect will ensure scalable, secure, and standards-aligned solutions while enabling the transformation of trading capabilities through cloud, data, and modern architecture practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead architecture across Oil Liquids trading platforms within the Trading & Supply organization.
- Support the implementation and evolution of a global ETRM platform.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with architectural standards.
- Drive transformation of trading capabilities using cloud, data, and modern architecture practices.
- Design and integrate large-scale trading platforms in cloud environments (Azure preferred).
- Architect end-to-end solutions for the trading lifecycle from deal capture through settlement.
- Lead architectural decisions across complex environments and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Trading IT and architecture roles.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Openlink Endur (v14+) and ETRM implementations, including:
- All ‘Managers’ (e.g., Trade, Position, Risk)
- Domain Services and Operation Services
- TPM and APM
- Grid Setup and Deal Modelling
- Expertise in JVS and OpenComponents.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end trading lifecycle from deal capture through settlement.
- Experience architecting large-scale trading platforms and integrations in cloud environments (Azure preferred).
- Experience integrating ETRM platforms with enterprise applications such as SAP or Salesforce (preferred).
- Hands-on development experience with technologies such as Python, .NET/.NET Core, Node.js, or similar (preferred).
- Proficient in SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Significant experience with Azure Services & Integration, including:
- Azure Functions, Web Apps
- Distributed/event-driven architecture (Event Hub, Event Bus, Kafka)
- ELK stack
- Azure Active Directory, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Storage
- Azure Kubernetes Service, CosmosDB, Azure SQL
- Integration experience with Confluent/Kafka, API Management, and Logic Apps.
- Expertise designing microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native applications.
- Strong data architecture experience, including data pipelines, warehousing, and distributed data platforms.
- 5+ years of experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices using tools such as Git, Azure DevOps, Terraform, or similar.
- Experience with TOGAF or similar enterprise architecture frameworks (preferred).
Candidates must be US Citizens, Green Card holders, or independently authorized to work in the US. Visa sponsorship (e.g., H1, F1, OTC) is not available for this role.
