About the role
AWS is looking for a Solutions Architect to support our Worldwide Public Sector (WWPS) Global Systems Integrators (GSIs) and shape opportunities for our government customers. This role is located in the DC area. On our Global Systems Integrator team, you will provide exceptional technical design, architecture, and thought leadership while working with a world class sales and business development team. You will lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge with the AWS solution architect community and gain the opportunity to learn from, collaborate with, and educate some of the brightest technical minds in the industry today across the breadth of enterprise architecture.
Responsibilities
- Help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services (e.g., Amazon Lambda, Amazon S3, Amazon EC2, and Amazon CloudFront) directly with our ecosystem of systems integrators, consulting and technology partners
- Own the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects
- Define implementation architectures and assist partners respond to RFPs
- Develop a deep expertise in the AWS technologies, as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform
- Serve as a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services

Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 4+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries
- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
- Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective
Pay
- USA, MA, Boston: $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
- USA, NY, New York: $144,500.00 - $195,400.00 USD annually
- USA, TX, Austin: $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
- USA, TX, Dallas: $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
- USA, VA, Arlington: $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
- USA, VA, Herndon: $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
