Solution Architect

Position Summary

Centre Technologies is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to transition into a Solutions Architect role. The Solutions Architect will develop and implement IT infrastructure solutions that meet customer business needs, gather requirements and solution specifications, assess existing systems, and oversee implementation teams. This role works closely with the sales team to understand customer needs, creates designs, supports implementation for new and existing client projects, and manages migration and configuration of hardware and software. The architect must incorporate updated requirements, explain complex problems in layman’s terms, and adopt a consultative approach. Ideal candidates have Tier 2/3 support experience, pre‑sales engineering, senior system administration, IT management for 250‑300 users, or delivery consulting with both delivery and pre‑sales responsibilities, and possess a consultative, outgoing personality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Identify and qualify business opportunities and develop strategies to resolve technical matters as part of a team partnered with Sales and IT Consulting.
• Build deep, consultative technical relationships with customers, becoming a trusted adviser.
• Assess current systems architecture and work with technical staff to recommend improvements.
• Evaluate the business impact of technical choices.
• Provide updates to stakeholders on product development processes, costs, and budgets.
• Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure using best practices.
• Articulate the enterprise vision on technologies and solutions, positioning the company as a thought leader.
• Lead prioritization of customer solution/technical requirements and champion resolution of solution or product gaps internally and with product groups.
• Develop personal skill set and expand product knowledge to maximize value and deliver quality services.
• Travel to client sites, conferences, and related events as required.
• Guide and assist Project Services teams on maintenance and upgrade of infrastructure—including servers, storage, routers, switches, firewalls, remote‑access systems, and network management systems—in line with Centre Technologies methodologies.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including supporting infrastructure maintenance and upgrades.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

• 4+ years in a technical role (Senior System Administration, Infrastructure, Cloud, etc.).
• Experience with the Microsoft stack: Office 365 (MCSA), Microsoft Intune, Windows administration tools (AD Users and Computers, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, Sites and Services, etc.).
• Microsoft Active Directory.
• Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013/2016/Office 365.
• Experience with Meraki and Cisco networking.
• Virtualization experience – VMware technologies and Citrix.
• Experience managing on‑premises and hosted data‑center environments.
• Experience in Infrastructure and Operations services.
• Experience in enterprise cloud migration and transformation.
• Intermediate knowledge of cloud economics and optimization.
• Experience with a managed cloud service supporting AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Previous experience with managed service providers, operational management, and continuous improvement (preferred).
• Experience with public and private cloud solutions.
• Certifications: Microsoft expert‑level in server, cloud, M365, etc.; Cisco networking or similar; VMware.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Work primarily in a climate‑controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazards.
• Occasional after‑hours work for overnight patches, upgrades, and implementations.
• Occasional lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds may be required.
