Solution Administrator
The Solution Administrator oversees the administration and maintenance of software solutions critical to the university's operations. They manage the integration of various systems and platforms to ensure interoperability and data consistency. They collaborate with faculty and staff to identify, evaluate, and implement educational technologies that enhance the learning experience. The administrator implements and enforces security protocols to safeguard sensitive information and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. They develop and maintain comprehensive plans to mitigate the impact of disasters and ensure business continuity. They provide technical support to users and conduct training sessions to promote efficient use of technology resources. They liaise with vendors to negotiate contracts, resolve issues, and ensure service level agreements are met. They evaluate proposed integrations for feasibility, compatibility, and alignment with organizational objectives. They monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to enhance efficiency. They develop and update policies, procedures, and documentation related to technology usage and administration. They perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in system administration, particularly in cloud-based environments
- Strong understanding of integration techniques and protocols
- Knowledge of educational technologies and their applications in online learning environments
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices
- Experience with disaster recovery planning and implementation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely solutions
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Familiarity with vendor management and contract negotiation
- Understanding of accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices related to program development and institutional compliance
- Proven ability to design and assess curriculum effectiveness, learning outcomes, and student engagement strategies, particularly within a Competency-based Education model
- Experience with online learning platforms, learning management systems (LMS), and educational technologies used in online and hybrid learning environments
- Knowledge of adult learning theories and principles, including instructional design methodologies tailored to adult learners in diverse academic settings
- Ability to collaborate effectively with academic departments, faculty members, subject matter experts, and instructional designers to develop and deliver high-quality educational programs
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage project timelines, and ensure alignment with departmental goals and objectives
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to inform program development decisions, assess program efficacy, and identify areas for continuous improvement
- Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to articulate program objectives, outcomes, and value propositions to internal and external stakeholders
- Willingness to explore innovative approaches to program development, incorporate emerging technologies, and adapt to evolving trends and student needs in higher education
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Experience
- 2 years of experience as a Solution Administrator, with a strong emphasis on developing and refining systems, programs, and processes to support organizational goals
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and student information systems (SIS)
- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role
- Certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or ITIL
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
This position requires occasional travel of up to 20%, including required attendance at designated company summits (typically one to two per year). Additional travel may include conferences, visits to company locations, and other business-related events as needed. Additional travel may be assigned as needed to support business requirements.
