About the role

Eaton’s IS AER MSD division is currently seeking a Soldering Technician - Actuation 2nd Shift. The hours for this role are 3:00pm - 11:30pm. The hourly rate for this position is $24.50 - $27.50 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform soldering and other manufacturing processes.
  • Maintains standards of quality, production, and safety; complies with all company policies and works as part of a team to ensure that daily goals are met.
  • Performs high reliability soldering operations of wires on complex mechanical and/or electrical assemblies with a familiarity in component surface finishes and aerospace cleanliness requirements.
  • Performs detailed soldering operations while working under a microscope as required.
  • Performs manufacturing processes on complex assemblies following written instructions.
  • Verifies calibrated equipment, material with expiration dates and written instructions are up to date and accurate prior to use in production.
  • Properly manages the traceability of numerous components to ensure assembly accuracy.
  • Works in partnership with Engineering to Identify improvement opportunities, resulting in a decrease of lead time, cost savings, elimination of waste, or safety improvement.
  • Obtain and maintain Certified Operator Status and J-Standard Soldering Certification following site guidelines.
  • Ensures compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety standards are met.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree) from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years Aerospace manufacturing OR military experience OR 3 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of previous soldering experience.
  • Ability to communicate problems in product or quality in to supervisor or manager clearly and concisely.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Thorough Understanding of mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Skilled at diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical assemblies issues.
  • Associates Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Technology.
  • Minimum 5 years of Aerospace manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of Aerospace soldering experience.
