About the role
Performs a wide variety of electronic soldering or electro-mechanical assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies. This role requires the ability to read and follow blueprint specifications, schematics, and detailed assembly instructions in conformance to industry standards and blueprint tolerances. The technician determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and cable harnessing on assembly units. The technician inspects finished products to identify soldering defects or quality issues and assesses whether rework or repairs are needed.
Responsibilities
- Identify electronic component types and markings, including component polarity.
- Solder circuits under microscope magnification.
- Complete highly intricate soldering operations at high throughput rates with consistent, high quality.
- Work on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or making recommendations.
- Operate with little instruction on daily work and general instructions on newly introduced assignments.
- Document repair/rework performed and other required information using forms and electronic databases.
- Perform mechanical inspections per drawings and procedures using calibrated measuring devices.
- Operate and maintain soldering equipment, including soldering irons, hot air guns, and soldering stations, ensuring they are in proper working condition.
- Collaborate with the production team to troubleshoot and resolve any soldering-related issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
- Collaborate with engineers to provide input on soldering techniques and contribute to product improvement and innovation.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4–6 years of related experience.
- High School diploma (desired).
- IPC610 Certification and ANSI J-STD-001 Certification (both desired).
- U.S. citizenship is required due to Department of Defense contract requirements.
This is an ITAR facility and applicant must be a US Citizen.
