About the role
The role involves owning the solar strategy and deployment for Fluidstack's data centers. This includes managing relationships with solar developers, suppliers, and independent power producers, negotiating power purchase agreements (PPAs), and structuring terms that create fungible capacity options.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of large-scale infrastructure projects, coordinating across multiple sites.
- Build and track processes, systems, and reporting pipelines from scratch, ensuring they are used by leadership teams to make informed decisions.
- Coordinate and manage handoffs between site selection, engineering, permitting, and operations, ensuring smooth transitions and clear communication.
- Identify and mitigate schedule risks and cost exposures early in the project lifecycle.
- Communicate complex project statuses to senior leadership in a concise and understandable manner.
Requirements
- Experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly those involving multiple concurrent sites.
- Proven ability to build and implement robust project management processes and reporting systems.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to structure favorable agreements with various counterparties.
- Excellent communication skills, able to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with solar energy procurement and interconnection processes.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in data center operations, renewable energy, or related fields.
- Experience with solar energy procurement and interconnection processes.
- Understanding of utility interconnection and power market dynamics.
- Knowledge of AI infrastructure constraints and chip-lock scheduling.
- Experience with portfolio-level tooling or automation built on top of spreadsheet-era data.
