Solar Lead
About the role
The role involves owning the solar strategy and deployment for Fluidstack's data centers. This includes managing commercial relationships with solar developers, suppliers, independent power producers, and behind-the-meter generation partners across all active US data center markets. Key responsibilities include negotiating solar PPAs, behind-the-meter offtake agreements, and retail power arrangements, structuring terms that create fungible capacity options, and running scenario analyses to extend the shelf life of existing agreements or accelerate delivery of new ones.
Responsibilities
- Manage and negotiate solar PPAs and offtake agreements
- Engage in interconnection processes and regulatory proceedings affecting behind-the-meter generation
- Assess solar resource quality and supply chain constraints for prospective locations
- Partner with the site acquisition team to evaluate solar generation potential
- Coordinate across design, construction, finance, and grid operations
- Communicate portfolio status to leadership in a clear and concise manner
Requirements
Experience managing large-scale infrastructure or data center projects is required, with a focus on the complexity arising from the number of concurrent sites rather than the size of individual projects. Experience building and using programs to track processes, systems, and reporting pipelines from scratch is essential, as is the ability to quarterback across multiple teams and coordinate handoffs between various stages of a project.

- Proven track record in managing complex infrastructure projects
