Solar & BESS Technician II

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Solar Technician II to ensure optimal operation and maintenance of utility-scale solar PV sites and substations in Southern California. The technician will perform corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance on equipment such as inverters, trackers, combiner boxes, PV modules, and electrical systems, ensuring safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain solar PV equipment, including inverters, trackers, combiner boxes, and PV modules.
• Perform corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance on electrical systems and substations.
• Operate and monitor power plant systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Assist with site vegetation management.
• Support administrative tasks, such as writing procedures and work orders.
• Lead and train field personnel in safety and operational best practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of solar O&M or power generation experience, or 5+ years in the power industry.
• Hands-on experience with electrical systems, substation operations, and troubleshooting high/medium/low voltage equipment.
• Knowledge of safety protocols, electrical theory, and environmental standards.
• Proficiency with computers, SCADA, and maintenance management systems.
