Software & System Test Engineer

About the role

The Software & System Test Engineer is responsible for delivering engineering assignments within guidance, expanding technical expertise, and ensuring project success. They collaborate closely with technical leadership, create decision matrices for troubleshooting, and recognize potential system impacts. The role involves designing electrical and electronics infrastructure, integrating software, and safeguarding against cyber threats.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects by breaking down concepts, planning ECU development, and coordinating with stakeholders.
• Design specifications for Body/Powertrain ECU applications using tools like MATLAB Simulink and MS Visio.
• Conduct troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implement solutions in vehicles.
• Test and verify ECU hardware/software to ensure electrical performance, quality, and reliability, documenting results.
• Identify process improvements, manage documentation, and communicate proactively to prevent issues.
• Work with suppliers to meet requirements and resolve issues efficiently.

Qualifications & Skills

• BSEE or BSME degree or equivalent experience.
• 0-2 years of related experience or equivalent education.
• Effective communication, relationship management, and teamwork skills.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project, CANalyzer).
• Ability to multi-task, work independently, and pay attention to detail.

Work Conditions Hands-on vehicle work, lab testing, and occasional travel (~5%). Physical ability to lift 20 lbs and perform vehicle maneuvers. Work involves both on-site and remote tasks, including vehicle testing and lab work.
