Systems & Software Test Engineer

Sienna Systems Corporation · Fort Huachuca, AZ · 2 wk ago
Hybrid$76k–$80k/yrFull-time

About the role

At the Joint Interoperability Test Command, this role is hands-on with real ownership. You will stand up and maintain the test environments yourself, operate and troubleshoot the systems under test, write the scripts that measure whether they hold up, and produce the evidence and reports that back the accreditation decision. It is a small team, so the scope is broad — you will not be handed one narrow slice of a test plan and left there.

Responsibilities

  • Work with analysts, software and systems engineers, and OT&E personnel to document and exercise VV&A processes for assigned applications and systems
  • Operate and troubleshoot applications and systems during VV&A efforts, and produce test reports and supporting evidence
  • Prepare and present VV&A analysis results
  • Develop scripts and tools to assess the performance parameters identified in VV&A plans, and document the results
  • Gather, prepare, and present application and system tool-use metrics
  • Coordinate the setup and maintenance of VV&A systems
  • Install and configure applications and systems in compliance with program instructions, verifying functionality and documenting configurations and results
  • Maintain accurate VV&A documentation, ensuring traceability and compliance with industry standards
  • Gather and analyze user feedback on the support provided, and implement improvements as needed

Requirements

  • An interim or active DoD Secret security clearance in place on your first day (we are not able to start you on a pending investigation)
  • CompTIA Security+ certification
  • A Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience — or 6 years of equivalent professional experience in place of a degree
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting of applications and systems
  • Scripting ability for performance assessment and test tooling
  • Experience working in Agile Scrum
  • Clear, careful writing — a real share of this role is documentation other people depend on

Qualifications

  • Prior VV&A or DoD test and evaluation experience
  • Familiarity with Section 508 Accessibility Standards
  • Experience coordinating across teams and managing VV&A evidence
  • Experience developing documentation and user manuals

Location and Schedule

Hybrid. You will be on site at Fort Huachuca, Arizona for scheduled on-site days and remote the rest of the time, so you will need to live within commuting distance of Fort Huachuca and the Sierra Vista area.

Benefits

  • Medical/dental/vision insurance
  • 401(k) plan: 4% matching, immediate vesting, no restrictions
  • 3 weeks Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • 11 Federal Holidays
  • Long- and short-term Disability coverage
  • Company-sponsored Life Insurance coverage
  • Hiring Referral Bonus

Pay

Salary: $76,000 – $80,000 based on experience
