Software Packaging Manager - End User Computing Engineering

Location: Montvale, NJ (Remote - Candidate must be in the US)

Pay Range: $80,000 – $80/hour (W-2 contract rate)

About the role

Lead and oversee software application packaging and deployment processes within a mature enterprise IT environment. Manage a team of experienced and apprentice employees, ensuring work adheres to established standards, procedures, and service level agreements. Collaborate with application owners and stakeholders to analyze packaging requests, gather requirements, and develop software deployment packages using MECM (SCCM) and Intune. Package applications for silent and attended installations in various formats, including MSI + MST, MSIX, and INTUNEWIN, and perform initial testing on Windows 10 and 11 platforms. Maintain accurate records of software titles, including versions, lifecycle status, and vendor data, while participating in Agile Scrum meetings and contributing to resource planning.

Responsibilities

• Ensure packaging work meets established standards, procedures, and SLAs.
• Collaborate with application owners and stakeholders to analyze packaging requests and gather requirements.
• Develop software deployment packages using MECM (SCCM) and Intune.
• Package applications for silent and attended installations in formats such as MSI + MST, MSIX, and INTUNEWIN.
• Perform initial testing of packaged applications on Windows 10 and 11 platforms.
• Maintain accurate records of software titles, including versions, lifecycle status, and vendor data.
• Participate in Agile Scrum meetings and contribute to resource planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 9+ years of experience in software packaging, management, and deployment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels.
• Working knowledge of Intune and MECM (SCCM).
• Experience with application packaging for Windows 11.
• Proficiency with packaging tools such as InstallShield, Admin Studio, Win32 Content Prep Tool, and Winget.
• Exceptional knowledge of PowerShell scripting.
• Experience troubleshooting MECM and Intune clients, logs, and installation issues.
