Software Engineer | Remote | $30–$100/hour

About the role

Use your backend engineering expertise to help train the next generation of AI systems. This remote contract opportunity involves creating realistic coding challenges, implementing solutions and building automated checks to evaluate AI-generated code. No previous AI experience is required. Location: Remote. Openings: 100.

Responsibilities

• Create challenging coding tasks involving feature implementation and bug fixes.
• Build deterministic verifiers that accept valid solutions and reject incorrect ones.
• Apply your experience in debugging, refactoring and performance optimisation to realistic software problems.
• Use sound testing practices to make evaluations reliable and repeatable.
• Communicate technical decisions and reasoning clearly.

Requirements

• Strong backend development experience in one or more languages such as Java, Node.js, Go, Rust, TypeScript, Python or C++.
• A track record of building scalable services and APIs.
• Confidence debugging complex issues, identifying bottlenecks and improving performance.
• Experience implementing features and refactoring large codebases.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures and core computer science concepts.
• Good code review judgment and clear technical communication.
• A strong testing background is particularly valuable, including designing test strategies, maintaining large test suites and diagnosing flaky tests.
