Software Engineer - Mobile Android Client III
About the role
We are seeking a Software Engineer - Mobile Android Client III to design, develop, and support Android applications in a collaborative Agile environment. This individual will play a key role in building scalable, maintainable mobile solutions using modern Android technologies and architectural best practices.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support Android applications throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Build high-quality, scalable mobile applications using Java, Kotlin, Android SDK, and Android Jetpack
- Develop customer-facing features and application enhancements that improve user experiences
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Designers, QA, and Engineering teams to deliver business requirements
- Apply object-oriented design principles and software development best practices
- Develop modular, reusable, and testable code using Clean Architecture and MVVM patterns
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architecture reviews
- Identify and resolve application performance, stability, and maintainability issues
- Integrate applications with backend services and APIs
- Work with JSON data structures and parsing frameworks
- Support and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term solutions
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions
- Contribute to engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience with Java 17 or higher
- 1–2 years of experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Experience developing applications with Kotlin
- Experience with Android SDK
- Experience with Android Jetpack
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with JSON parsing
- Experience in mobile and/or web development
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD)
- Strong understanding of Clean Architecture and MVVM principles
- Experience using Git or other source control tools
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- Experience integrating REST APIs
- Familiarity with dependency injection frameworks such as Hilt, Dagger, or Koin
- Experience with Kotlin Coroutines and asynchronous programming
- Experience with automated testing and code review practices
- Knowledge of Material Design principles and modern Android development practices
