What You'll Do
Note: This position requires on-site work at the Pantex Plant location.
Core Responsibilities
- Work closely with functional business partners, project managers, and enterprise architects to design, develop, or modify applications based on approved architecture and business requirements for our manufacturing systems.
- Design and implement innovative solutions to resolve complex Information Technology (IT) and business problems within the plant’s manufacturing (PeopleSoft) ecosystem.
- Ensure solutions are well-engineered, optimized, operable, and maintainable while adhering to project management, change management, and software quality assurance standards.
- Interface with IT project management to deliver solutions on schedule and within budget.
- Lead technical projects through effective communication with peers, customers, and management.
- Contribute to the long-term IT strategy for manufacturing systems by participating in the evaluation and/or implementation of future
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- OR Master's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline.
- OR applicants without a bachelor's degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 10 years of completed education and/or relevant experience.
Department of Energy (DOE) 426.2A Requirements
- Experience with PeopleSoft development tools, including Application Engine, Integration Broker, PeopleCode, Search Query Reports (SQRs), and PeopleTools.
- In lieu of PeopleSoft, experience with object-oriented programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, C#) and web development (JavaScript, Hybertext Markup Language (HTML5)).
- Experience with Oracle or other relational database management systems, including proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Familiarity with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) like PeopleTools, Visual Studio, or IntelliJ IDEA, and version control tools like Git or SVN.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Experience in designing, maintaining, and implementing large-scale enterprise business applications, particularly for manufacturing.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience developing integrations and services between applications.
- Knowledge in the areas of automated testing, DevOps, and software engineering.
