About the role
This requisition may be filled at a higher job grade based on the qualifications listed below. This requisition may be filled as either Principal or Sr. Principal Software Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
- Counsels and assists other software engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
- Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
- Ensures software standards are met.
Requirements
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance at time of application.
- Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience; 0 years of relevant experience with a Master's. An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience with software architecture, design, and development.
- Experience with Agile leadership (product owner and scrum master), planning, and scheduling.
- Experience with Technical customer engagement and interaction.
- Experience using Jira and Confluence.
- Experience with Perl and Python desirable.
Qualifications
- For a Software Engineer Level 2: Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience; 0 years of relevant experience with a Master's. An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- For a Software Engineer – Level 3: Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience; 3 years of relevant experience with a Master's; 0 years of relevant experience with a PhD. An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Skills
- Experience with software architecture, design, and development.

Pay
- Primary Level Salary Range: $91,800.00 - $137,600.00
- Secondary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00
Schedule
- Travel: Yes, 10% of the Time
