Software Engineer Level 2

As a Software Engineer, you will work on an agile development team using modern practices, primarily developing new software with Docker containers, Kubernetes, Helm charts, and AWS services. You will also perform maintenance and sustainment engineering for existing baselines, which may require programming in C++/C. This is a fast-paced, dynamic environment with real-world technical content supporting multiple tools and systems, offering opportunities for career advancement into leadership positions.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade (Principal Software Engineer or Senior Principal Software Engineer) based on qualifications. The position follows a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

Responsibilities

• Develop software in an agile environment using Java, Python, and/or C++ in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment.
• Utilize Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools for software deployment and management.
• Implement Dockerization and container management with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Develop systems in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS).
• Perform maintenance and sustainment engineering for existing software baselines.
• Apply knowledge of object-oriented design and software lifecycles.
• Use version control software for collaborative development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other STEM-related field with 2+ years of software development experience (0 years with a Master’s degree).
• Active U.S. Government Top Secret/SCI clearance at time of application, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Counterintelligence Polygraph (CI-Poly).
• Demonstrated experience with Agile software development, Java, Python, and/or C++.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and cloud environments (e.g., AWS).
• Strong mathematics background.
• Knowledge of object-oriented design and software lifecycles.
• Experience with version control software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience with mission management algorithms.
• Experience working with the Proliferated Mission Management (PMM) framework.

Pay

Primary salary range: $87,600.00 – $131,400.00. Base salary offers consider scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Eligible employees may receive overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company results. Vice President or Director positions may qualify for Long Term Incentives.
