Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of user-centered software applications supporting government mission objectives.
  • Design intuitive, accessible, and effective user interfaces that enhance operational effectiveness and user adoption.
  • Collaborate with government stakeholders to gather requirements, understand user workflows, and identify usability improvements.
  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and interface designs that align with mission requirements and technical constraints.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to software engineers and development teams.
  • Support software architecture, integration, testing, deployment, and maintenance activities.
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, design specifications, and engineering artifacts.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, design reviews, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure solutions meet security, performance, scalability, reliability, and usability requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance preferred. Candidates with an active Public Trust clearance or higher may be considered if eligible to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology with a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience as permitted under contract requirements.
  • Collaborate with users to understand their task flow and job-to-be-done
  • Use Figma to create and maintain user interface designs based on user needs
  • Collaborate with developers to guide them in implementing user interfaces
  • Support usability and user acceptance testing activities
  • Experience designing and implementing modern user interfaces and user experiences.
  • Experience applying UI/UX principles, user-centered design methodologies, and usability best practices.
  • Experience creating wireframes, mockups, prototypes, workflows, and user interface specifications.
  • Experience collaborating with software developers, product owners, and stakeholders to translate requirements into user-centered solutions.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, application architecture, and software development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Ability to provide technical direction and guidance to junior engineers and developers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of technical reports, design documentation, and engineering artifacts.

Highly Desired Experience

  • Practical experience working in Agile environments utilizing the Scrum framework.
  • Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM) certification.
  • Understanding of secure application design principles and the impact of cybersecurity requirements on user experience and accessibility.
  • Scrum certifications and demonstrated experience supporting Agile product development teams.
