About Global Payment

The Global Payment team of ByteDance provides payment solutions - including payment acquisitions, disbursements, transaction monitoring, payment method management, foreign exchange conversion, accounting, reconciliations, and so on to ensure that our users have a smooth and secure payment experience on ByteDance platforms including TikTok. The mission of payment compliance is to build payment compliance strategy & solutions to prevent regulatory risks, and apply flexible strategy to match payment partners' risk appetite in order to reduce channel risk & spillover. We work closely with algorithm and strategy engineers to build a reliable compliance product system to ensure payment compliance of ByteDance products, including TikTok LIVE, TikTok E-commerce, etc.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality software design and architecture for global payment systems
• Identify, prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
• Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
• Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
• Review and debug code
• Perform validation and verification testing
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to fix and improve our products
• Document development phases and monitor systems
• Ensure software is up-to-date with latest technologies

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• Excellent programming, debugging, and optimization skills in one or more general purpose programming languages
• Strong communication and excellent teamwork skills; flexible and be a self-starter
• Agile, quick self learner, highly self-motivated with strong sense of product ownership and creative problem solver
• Good collaborator and team player, comfortable working in a fast moving, culturally diverse and globally distributed team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant internship experience with hands on exposure to the tech stack
• Interested in payment industry

Pay & Benefits

Hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $45. Interns have day one access to health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits and more. Interns also receive 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in first half of year, 40 if hired in second half of year). Interns who are not working 100% remote may also be eligible for housing allowance.
