Software Engineer Intern

About the role

iGov delivers innovative, mission-centric IT solutions to government customers. The software engineering intern provides technical support to software development efforts across projects, tasks, or business units.

Responsibilities

• Software development support to active projects, including coding, debugging, and testing under the guidance of senior engineers
• Assistance in designing, developing, and maintaining software components, tools, or internal applications
• Support for system integration, validation, and troubleshooting activities across development environments
• Participation in Agile events, contributing to sprint tasks, documentation, and technical discussions
• Basic analysis and problem-solving for defects, performance issues, or enhancement requests
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• University Senior or Graduate level student in Computer Science or Engineering
• Strong quantitative abilities
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C#)
• Basic understanding of software development principles and lifecycle (SDLC)
• Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git)
• Ability to debug, troubleshoot, and analyze code issues

Qualifications

• Working on a Bachelor's Degree or Graduate degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or a related field
• In lieu of a degree, equivalent experience may be accepted
