Software Engineer III - React/UI

About the role

As a seasoned member of an agile team within the Enterprise Technology - Employee Platform Group at JPMorgan Chase, you will design and deliver trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will carry out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas, leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to enhance product capabilities and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches—including applying AI/ML techniques—to build solutions or break down technical problems.
• Create secure and high-quality production code and maintain algorithms, including AI-driven algorithms, that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met by software code development, and incorporate AI/ML components where they add value.
• Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets, utilizing AI-powered analytics to drive continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
• Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data, using AI and machine learning insights to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
• Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies, including AI and ML advancements.

Requirements

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficiency in coding in one or more languages including React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
• Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.), with practical experience applying AI/ML solutions to real-world problems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
• Exposure to cloud technologies.
• Experience integrating AI/ML models or APIs into front-end applications.
