Software Engineer II - Military Avionics FMS (Onsite)
About the role
Collins Aerospace is seeking qualified candidates for Software Engineer II roles in our Military Avionics Flight Management department located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Teams are comprised of cross-functional engineers working in an Agile environment (approximately 6-10 people) focused on the design and development of flight management software applications. Responsibilities
- Work within a team of Systems and Software engineers to design, develop, and test software features for flight management systems that are integrated into military helicopters and planes.
- Improve knowledge of Software Engineering and Flight Management Systems.
- Integrate soft skills (leadership, communication, coordination, proactiveness) into a dynamic environment that provides quality and timely products to internal and external customers.
- Travel (domestic and international
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
- 2+ years of experience with C, C++, DOORS, ADA, and/or Python.
- 2+ years of experience in a Software role.
- Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance (Classified as a US Person) if needed after day 1.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Industry Experience of Software Lifecycle Development (Design, Requirements, Integration, Test)
- Pilot/Avionics Experience (i.e. Private Pilot, Aircraft Maintenance, DO-178 Certification)

Pay
The salary range for this role is $68,900 - $131,100.
Schedule
This role may be eligible for relocation. Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
