Senior Software Engineer - Military Avionics FMS (Onsite)
About the role
Collins Aerospace is seeking qualified candidates for Senior Software Engineer roles in our Military Avionics Flight Management department located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Teams are comprised of cross-functional engineers working in an AGILE environment (approximately 6-10 people) focused on the design and development of flight management software applications. Responsibilities
- Work within a team of Systems and Software engineers to design, develop, and test software features for flight management systems that are integrated into military helicopters and planes.
- Master your knowledge of Software Engineering and Flight Management Systems.
- Integrate soft skills (leadership, communication, coordination, proactiveness) into a dynamic environment that provides quality and timely products to internal and external customers.
- Travel (domestic and international
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
- 4+ years of experience with C, C++, DOORS, ADA, and/or Python.
- 4+ years of experience in a Software role.
- Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance (Classified as a US Person) if needed after day 1.

- Pilot/Avionics Experience (i.e. Private Pilot, Aircraft Maintenance, DO-178 Certification)

Schedule
This position may require the commitment of professional working hours that may require the employee to extend beyond a typical 7:30am to 4:30pm workday, or beyond a 40-hour work week.
Pay
The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
