Software Engineer (II/III)
Location: Fort Meade, MD • On-site • Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance required (last poly within the past 7 years).
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance (last polygraph within the past 7 years).
- Level 2: Bachelor’s degree + 14 years of experience.
- Level 3: Bachelor’s degree + 20 years of experience.
- Solid experience with Python.
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and agile development methodologies.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
Responsibilities
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using modern software engineering principles and best practices.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Perform code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge with other team members.
- Debug and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner.
- Work to continuously improve the development process, tools, and overall software reliability.
- Lead the design and architecture of complex software systems, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth.
- Determine the root cause for complex software issues and develop practical, long-term solutions.
- Drive and influence technical decisions, contributing to the overall strategic direction of the product and engineering team.
- Evaluate and make recommendations on new technologies and best practices.
- Support the transition to cloud capability.
