About the role
Torch.AI is seeking candidates who bring creativity, comfort with ambiguity, and a drive to strengthen U.S. defense readiness and protect national interests. This role involves building a government-owned reasoning infrastructure that enhances machine reasoning at scale, enabling better decisions through data integration and context management.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement modular architectures for data ingestion, orchestration, and governance
- Create semantic representations and vectorized data for improved machine understanding
- Develop graph-based fusion and reasoning capabilities to enhance decision-making processes
- Collaborate with engineers, data experts, veterans, and mission practitioners to deliver impactful solutions
- Work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment where daily tasks are part of a larger puzzle
Requirements
- Comfortable operating without full clarity and taking responsibility for outcomes
- Experience with data engineering, machine learning, and infrastructure development
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing requirements
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment
- Some roles may require an active Secret, Top Secret, or Top Secret/SCI clearance
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience
- Experience with data pipelines, machine learning frameworks, and cloud platforms
- Knowledge of data governance principles and practices
