Software Engineer I, Quality
About The Role
This entry-level position is designed for individuals interested in software functional testing and quality assurance within the healthcare technology sector. The role involves supporting the verification and validation of the Synapse Select product line, ensuring compliance with medical device regulations and internal quality standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent in a scientific or technical discipline
- 0 to 2 years of experience in software development, software QA, or related fields
- Basic understanding of software development and testing methodologies
- Knowledge of medical device software procedures and terminology, including DICOM and HL7 standards
- Familiarity with AGILE software development processes and design controls
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and Access or similar software
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Physical ability to perform typical office tasks, including sitting for extended periods and occasional lifting up to 10 pounds
Responsibilities
- Learn and develop proficiency in the Synapse Select product line, including deployment methods and architecture for on-premise and cloud configurations
- Assist in creating and executing manual software test cases aligned with verification and validation protocols
- Perform exploratory functional testing and document issues through ticketing systems such as JIRA
- Reproduce, document, and track product defects or bugs, providing detailed reports for engineering teams
- Execute individual development tickets and conduct regression testing with comprehensive documentation of results
- Collaborate with software and engineering teams, providing feedback and clarifications as needed
- Participate in development grooming calls and review sessions with contractor QA teams and automated testing teams
- Create and design forms in compliance with Medical Informatics Design Control processes for Synapse Select products
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of service manuals and product documentation in coordination with the Medical Informatics team
- Support Operations and Support teams with technical inquiries related to the Synapse Select product line
- Ensure compliance with all applicable FDA, ISO 13485, and other regulatory standards and requirements
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management to support project and organizational goals
