Software Engineer, Growth

About the role

The Growth org at Algolia aims to help the company grow by working on product enhancements, introducing new features, and improving the user experience. You will play a key role in shaping the user experience for customers as they start using Algolia, collaborating with Product and Design teams, and contributing to the evolution of the Growth platform.

Responsibilities

• Build solutions to help users get the most out of Algolia
• Run experiments and A/B tests to help choose the best possible solution
• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to explore opportunities
• Contribute to the evolution of our Growth platform, ensuring it scales with our customers and internal teams
• Work with a range of teams to deliver a solid growth foundation
• Write high-quality, well-tested code and participate in code reviews
• Contribute to improvements in engineering quality, processes, and tooling
• Bring ideas to the team roadmap and gradually own projects from discovery through delivery

Requirements

We are looking for engineers who enjoy working closely with users, shipping iteratively, measuring impact, and using data to decide what comes next. Some experience with event-driven infrastructure in GCP or AWS, and comfort working across the stack or becoming a full-stack developer with TypeScript, React, and modern frontend tools would be beneficial.

Qualifications

A passion for delivering the best UX to diverse sets of users in various industries (engineers, marketers, merchandisers, etc.), a mindset to make data-informed decisions, and some experience with analytics platforms like Amplitude, Hex are desirable. Experience working in a scale-up or Growth team is a plus.

Skills

Experience building production applications with a backend language (Ruby today, exploring Go), and a strong understanding of backend technologies are essential. Comfortable working across the stack or excited to grow into full-stack development with TypeScript, React, and modern frontend tools.
