About the role

The Integrated Secure Processing Solutions (SPS) team at Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a dynamic, cross-functional team. This role is crucial for creating mission-critical solutions supporting Mission Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Join a software team working in a cross-functional environment to define System Requirements and translate them into Software Requirements and UML/SysML diagrams.
  • Collaborate with other Software Engineers to communicate and solve technical issues.
  • Provide direct support to the SBCDS team to answer questions and solve technical issues.
  • Maintain and develop code that satisfies customer and certification needs.
  • Work in an integrated test environment to produce software implementations.

Qualifications

  • Experience with embedded development using object-oriented design.
  • Experience with development tool sets, such as Jira, Subversion/Git/Version Management.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • Active U.S. DoD security clearance preferred.
  • Experience with requirements analysis and requirements decomposition.
  • Experience with virtualization preferred.
  • Knowledge of microservices, containers, and orchestrators preferred.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with memory-safe applications (Ada or Rust) preferred.
  • Experience with automated test environments (Python) preferred.
  • Knowledge on DevSecOps and CI/CD preferred.
  • Implemented Graphical User Interfaces with Java, React framework, or similar frameworks like Swing or JavaFX preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with Data Format Description Language (DFDL) preferred.
  • Knowledge of Fibre-Channel or Aircraft 1553 Bus communication protocols preferred.
  • Experience integrating/deploying software to hardware solutions preferred.
