Software Engineer, CX Engineering(Hybrid)

As Software Engineer on the team you will lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions across diverse cloud-native and on-premises environments. In this role, you will own the technical lifecycle of complex projects, prioritizing secure coding practices, user privacy, and exceptional UX to drive high-quality outcomes. You will also integrate advanced AI-enabled frameworks and development tools to accelerate product capabilities and streamline your daily workflow. Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions across cloud-native and on-premises environments.
- Own the technical lifecycle of complex projects, prioritizing secure coding practices, user privacy, and exceptional UX.
- Integrate advanced AI-enabled frameworks and development tools to accelerate product capabilities and streamline daily workflow.
- Manage end-to-end implementation while staying at the forefront of AI-driven engineering innovation.
- Deploy and manage scalable solutions within cloud and on-premise environments.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years of related experience, or Master’s degree plus 4 years of related experience, or PhD plus 1 year of related experience, or equivalent related work experience.
- Experience working with both cloud-native architectures (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) and on-premises environments, specifically involving Kubernetes container orchestration.
- Proficiency in programming in Python.
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks, generative AI, and large language models.
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex projects, leveraging deep expertise in the software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and secure coding practices.
- Proven hands-on experience deploying and managing scalable solutions within cloud and on-premise environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Node.js.
- A strong foundation in responsible AI practices, AI governance, and artificial intelligence compliance, complemented by hands-on experience in prompt engineering and generative AI proficiency to meet business objectives.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (Ansible, Terraform), and network automation.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across diverse teams.
- Experience in mentoring and upskilling junior engineers to ensure high-quality engineering standards and technical proficiency.
Pay
The starting salary range for this position in U.S. and/or Canada locations is $139,300.00 to $203,600.00, not including incentive compensation, equity, or benefits. Individual pay is determined by the candidate’s hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and/or training.
The applicable full salary ranges for this position, by specific state, are:
- New York City Metro Area: $167,700.00 – $282,000.00
- Non-Metro New York State & Washington State: $149,100.00 – $250,900.00

- 80 hours of sick time off provided on hire date and each January 1st thereafter, and up to 80 hours of unused sick time carried forward from one calendar year to the next
- Optional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteer
- Additional paid time away may be requested to deal with critical or emergency issues for family members
For non-sales roles, employees are also eligible to earn annual bonuses subject to Cisco’s policies.
