Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain Java based applications and services supporting research laboratory workflows.
  • Support the biorepository and research lab systems with grant activities, including national research biobanks for the NIH.
  • Work with diverse stakeholders and build consensus across IT teams to translate business, research, and technical requirements into robust, maintainable software solutions that meet federal regulatory guidelines.

  • Provide IT support for vended and custom applications, including resolving highly complex issues, and assist with data security, redundancy, and support in collaboration with more senior technical staff.
  • Participate in expert level troubleshooting and resolve problems through root cause analysis, data and system investigation.
  • Work on deployment automation/configuration management with tools including but not limited to ADO and GitHub.
  • Build knowledge of the organization, processes and customers.
  • Participate with the team in providing 24/7 call support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field; or an Associate's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field with an additional 2 years of experience as described below.
  • Minimum of internships and a minimum of 1 yr. of experience, or 2yrs of experience coding applications or services in a high-level language (C, C++, Golang, Java, C# etc.).
  • Demonstrated problem solving and time management skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude for designing and implementing software solutions.
  • Experience with modern application development frameworks.
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Deep hands-on technical expertise, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Agile software development techniques.

Pay

$102,336.00 - $143,273.40 / year

Schedule

Full Time
Monday - Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm. Additional hours as needed.
Candidate will participate in on-call coverage rotation.
