Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain modern web applications and backend services using JavaScript, React, Node.js, and Python across the full software development lifecycle.
- Build, deploy, and manage applications in AWS, leveraging services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, and CloudFormation to deliver scalable and resilient solutions.
- Build responsive, accessible, and performant user interfaces using React and modern frontend tooling, with a focus on user experience and maintainability.
- Contribute to and maintain CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code practices to support reliable software delivery.
- Work closely with engineers and stakeholders in an agile environment to deliver well-scoped features on time and of high quality.
- Participate in and lead code reviews, promote engineering best practices, and help level up teammates through knowledge sharing and technical guidance.
- Incorporate security best practices into application design and development, including secure coding standards, secret management, and IAM policies within AWS environments.
- Maintain clear technical documentation in Confluence and manage work items in Jira to support transparency and team alignment throughout the development process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience designing and delivering production applications.
- Strong proficiency in the following technologies: JavaScript, React, Node.js, Python, and AWS cloud development.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and working with relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar).
- Proficiency with Git-based workflows and code repository platforms such as GitHub or GitLab, including branching strategies and pull request processes.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including but not limited to EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and IAM.
- Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals including testing strategies, version control, and Agile/Scrum development practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
