Software Engineer

About the role

Join the Manufacturing Test and Engineering software team at Tesla to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. You will develop software for in-house designed test equipment that ensures the functionality of Tesla's products.

Responsibilities

• Develop software in LabVIEW, Python, and/or Go to validate Tesla products on a manufacturing line.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to design test equipment that validates product functionality, optimizes accuracy, cycle time, and other performance indicators.
• Ensure the software is maintainable by production teams.
• Deploy automated manufacturing solutions across different facilities worldwide.

Requirements

• Familiarity with hardware connection protocols (CAN, UDS, gRPC, Modbus/TCP, TCP/IP, OPCUA, etc.)
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment and/or with physical hardware devices.
• Experience developing software solutions for test and measurement systems.
• Fluency in at least one object-oriented programming language.
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Familiarity with cloud development tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Vault).

Qualifications

• Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related degree.
• Equivalent experience in relevant fields.

Skills

• Object-oriented programming languages.
