Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems.
• Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.
• Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
• Provides specific input to the software components of system design, including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of COTS/GOTS, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
• Provides Help Desk Support; ticket handling/resolution, utilizing JIRA.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience OR associate’s degree with 15 years of relevant experience OR high school diploma with 20 years of experience.
• Experience scripting with Java using Linux.
• Strong background with Docker using Maven.
• Proficiency with Git/Gitlab; knowledge and experience with CI/CD and GitOps Principles.
• Experience with Helm, Kubectl, and Kubernetes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Flux and Kustomize.
• Experience with kafka, kyverno and/or minio.
• Willingness to learn integration and perform upgrade support of open-source software deployments.
• Willingness to learn and do updates for current Golang software.

Physical Requirements

• The candidate must be able to move, carry and deliver workstations from inside the office to customer’s desk.
• The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Must communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
