Software Engineer

About the role

The Software Engineer will design, develop, and enhance software for ground systems and real-time space mission capabilities. They will take ownership of complex engineering challenges, including modernizing legacy components and architecting new mission-focused capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software solutions for ground systems and space missions
• Modernize legacy applications to a modernized microservice-based architecture
• Work within a Cloud Service Provider (CSP) such as AWS, Azure, or Google
• Create solutions to complex problems within a collaborative, cross-functional team
• Develop both back-end and front-end solutions

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software development with Java, Python, Rust, or GO
• 3+ years of experience with Linux-based systems, containers, and orchestration tools such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Experience transitioning legacy applications to a modernized microservice-based architecture
• Experience working within a Cloud Service Provider (CSP) such as AWS, Azure, or Google
• Experience using back-end and front-end languages to develop complete solutions
• Experience creating solutions to complex problems within a collaborative, cross-functional team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in software engineering, or 10+ years of experience in software engineering in lieu of a degree

Skills

• Experience in an Agile environment
• Experience acquiring client requirements and resolving workflow problems through automation optimization
• Experience with C#, C, C++, JavaScript, React, or Node.JS
• Ability to work with automated testing tools to perform testing and maintenance

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD).

Schedule

Employees working remotely or on a hybrid schedule may be required to work from a Booz Allen office or customer facility as needed.
