Software Engineer

About the role

Bcore is seeking a skilled Software Engineer with expertise in DevOps to support a key Government customer. The ideal candidate will develop and automate customer’s systems, manage application servers, networks, and infrastructure, and provide technical support.

Responsibilities

• Develop and automate customer’s systems
• Manage and maintain application servers, networks, and development/test infrastructure
• Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot application hosting services
• Monitor system performance and audits to ensure data integrity and protection
• Collaborate with internal teams to identify technical requirements and implement solutions
• Resolve technical issues for end-users in a timely manner
• Implement best practices for automation, backup, disaster recovery, and system redundancy
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in cloud computing and IT systems administration

Requirements

• Infrastructure as a code language (e.g. Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.)
• Experience with Linux System Administration and containerization tools (e.g. Docker)
• Experience with source Control tools (e.g. Git, Subversion)
• Experience in Cloud based services (AWS, Azure)
• Understand and implement network architecture (e.g. VLAN, subnets)
• Experience in security review of applications and infrastructure
• Ability to analyze and solve networking issues
• Experience with object-oriented programming
• Works well in a engineering team environment with other teammates who have varied skills levels
• Ability to mentor others

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's or Master's degrees in computer science are preferred with a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience

Pay

The expected salary range within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is $120,000 - $140,000. Final compensation is unique to each individual and will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
