Project/Unit Description

GTRI’s Machine Intelligence and Spectrum Technologies (MIST) Division in Dayton, Ohio, a division of the Advanced Concepts Lab, seeks qualified candidates for the position of Software Engineer. This role involves applied software engineering across radio frequency spectrum domains, including radar mode development, signal analysis, and cloud applications for data processing.

Job Purpose

The Software Engineer designs, develops, and tests software applications and products. They manage software development teams, provide technical leadership, and establish software development lifecycle practices and processes. Proficient in various programming languages, the Software Engineer applies engineering principles to software creation and collaborates with sponsors to define project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform software development, debugging, modification, enhancement, and documentation
• Design, test, and develop computer software to meet program requirements
• Develop and maintain kernel and user-level software and scripts
• Contribute to research reports, presentations, white papers, and competitive proposals
• Create and analyze network protocols

Required Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Math, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
• Programming experience with MATLAB, Python, or C++

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI Clearance
• Graduate degree in Math, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering
