Software Development Senior Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Software Development Senior Specialist to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role focuses on developing AI-enabled applications, workflows, and services, integrating AI capabilities with enterprise systems, and supporting AI initiatives from proof-of-concept to production.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain AI-enabled applications, workflows, and services.
• Build and enhance AI agents, copilots, and automation solutions using approved enterprise AI platforms and frameworks.
• Integrate AI capabilities with enterprise applications and data sources through APIs and service integrations.
• Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to implement business requirements.
• Support proof-of-concept, pilot, and production AI initiatives.
• Participate in model evaluation, prompt optimization, and solution testing activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AI applications and integrations.
• Contribute to reusable components, templates, and engineering best practices.
• Support production deployments and ongoing operational activities.
• Document technical designs, implementation details, and operational procedures.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience developing and deploying AI/ML or Generative AI solutions.
• 5+ years of experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI frameworks.
• 5+ years of strong Python development skills and experience building production-quality applications.
• Experience consuming APIs and integrating applications with enterprise systems.
• Familiarity with cloud-native development practices and modern software engineering methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns.
• Experience with prompt engineering and LLM orchestration frameworks.
• Experience building AI agents, copilots, or workflow automation solutions.
• Familiarity with vector databases, knowledge retrieval systems, and enterprise search capabilities.
• Experience with enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow, Salesforce, data platforms, or similar systems.
• Understanding of responsible AI, security, privacy, and compliance considerations.

Pay

Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. The starting pay range is $70/hour - $84/hour. Actual compensation will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.
