Software Development Manager
About the role
Chewy is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead a team responsible for developing, testing, and deploying the company's WMS fulfillment execution system. This role involves maturing and extending existing systems, as well as introducing new systems to support Chewy's rapid growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage/Lead a team of software engineers in the development, testing and deployment of our platform
- Facilitate agile process and remove impediments
- Partner with our recruiting team to continue to build your team and mentor the growth of the existing team
- Drive technical decisions and work with your partner TPM to plan, track, and deliver software projects
- Establish strong working relationships at all organizational levels and cross-functional teams
- Review architecture, design, and implementations, and provide feedback to individual contributors
- Identify and manage priorities within the context of overall corporate objectives
- Work with others in Engineering Management to drive best practices in software development, testing, and production deployment
Requirements
- Demonstrated history of implementing and managing significant software development projects
- 7+ years of experience in Software Development as a software engineer
- 2+ years of experience in Engineering Management
- Fluency in SQL development and 1 or more programming languages
- Proven delivery experience working under an Agile/Scrum methodology
- Proven experience in delivering end-to-end scalable solutions
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Experience with high-level programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience with HighJump Software/Koerber Supply Chain Software

Pay
The base salary range for this role is $145,000 - $225,000.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location.
Schedule
This position is exempt and eligible for unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
