Software Development Manager

About the role

Manage all the activities of the software development team, set attainable goals for team members, provide mentorship and career guidance, ensure timelines are followed, manage multiple projects at once, represent the software department in leadership meetings, lead and grow a team of software engineers in an Agile environment, and perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Strong leadership skills, articulate, and excellent interpersonal skills
• 3+ years of experience working as a professional software development engineer building production quality mobile or web applications
• 2+ years of people management
• Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as Python, Javascript, Ruby on Rails, or Java

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field

Prior Experience

• Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
