Software Development Engineer IV

About the role

Senior developer within the ServiceNow team to lead and improve development activities within the platform. Analyzes and evaluates existing systems with minimal oversight and defines problems, data availability, reports requirements and system designs issues. Designs, configures, and develops custom applications and advanced software modules. Utilizes sophisticated scripting (Business Rules, Script Includes, Flow Designer, and IntegrationHub) while adhering to standard practices. Designs and develops applications using integrations (REST/SOAP, JSON/XML) using Integration Hub/MID Server where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes the problem and information to be processed, defines the problem and develops system requirements and program specifications from which programmers prepared detailed flowcharts, programs, and tests.
• Works within a team dynamic to improve the platform.
• Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 8 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 6 years of directly related work experience.
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator Proficient with API & integration design: RESTful services, webhook/notification integrations.
• Strong working knowledge of ServiceNow platform, with a focus on HRSD or related modules preferred.
• Proficient with scripting and development concepts, such as JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting (Glide).
• Ability to assess the situation, diagnose symptoms and causes of issues, determine goals and recommend actions to either meet goals or rectify issues, based on analysis of information.

Qualifications

• EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
