About the role
Infrastructure Foundational Services (IFS) is a software organization within AWS under EC2 Infrastructure Services organization. IFS builds and maintains services that provision physical hardware, orchestrate host and rack management activities, track rack health, enable automated RAMDisk management, and provide data on all physical and Hailstone hosts, rack devices, and logical statuses.
Responsibilities
- Design and build highly available, regional and zonal services operating at massive scale (millions of hosts, billions of API calls)
- Own features end-to-end: requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations
- Develop modern Kotlin/Java/Python/TypeScript services spanning on-host agents, APIs, and web interfaces with measurable impact on availability and security
- Participate in on-call rotations and drive operational excellence
- Work with a team of passionate engineers to deliver the next generation of infrastructure data and provisioning services
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Skills
Preferred qualifications include:
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $143,700.00 - $194,400.00 annually.
