About the role

The EC2 Mac team owns the entire end-to-end product lifecycle for the public EC2 Mac offering. This includes public macOS images, control plane services, and interactions with all Nitro components in the sled. The team requires engineers who are strong owners of various areas, driving new solutions to problems and adapting to a rapidly evolving landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with EC2 Senior Engineers and other technical leaders to define technical direction
  • Conduct detailed analysis, design, and implement high-quality code
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of EC2 Mac offerings with Nitro components
  • Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and secure systems for EC2 Mac instances
  • Engage in continuous learning and stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in the field of cloud computing and virtualization

Requirements

  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 1+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems
  • 7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems, and hands-on systems engineering
  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby

Qualifications

  • Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java
  • Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology

Skills

Software Development Engineers should be proficient in multiple programming languages and have a strong understanding of systems engineering principles. They should be able to work independently and collaboratively, and be comfortable with rapid changes in technology and business requirements.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $129,200.00 - $174,800.00 annually.
