Software Development Engineer, Cloud

About the role

As a member of the Sonos Cloud Engineering space, your role will directly contribute to the advancement of Sonos' cloud technology stack, and the delivery of incredible new features and product offerings that will delight our customers.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop cloud-based software solutions that are directly used by our customers' systems, as well as both Sonos-internal and our partner services and systems
• Leverage Generative AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Google Gemini) as part of your daily workflow to accelerate code generation, testing, and debugging
• Participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle including planning, requirements, development, and unit testing
• Work closely with your teammates and other cross-functional teams in an agile development environment, assist work definition and scoping in user stories, participate in code and design reviews
• Support Production services in a DevOps environment, including monitoring system health, deploying software and services, and participating in on-call rotation and incident handling
• Support service initiatives that adhere to best practices for security, scalability, cost, and overall performance
• Create automated tests and deployment processes that work with our continuous integration tools
• Possibly integrate Generative AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) into your development workflow to boost productivity and code quality

Pay

The base pay range for this role based off geographic location is: $111,000 and $138,300 The specific pay offered will depend on the candidate’s geographic location, as well as qualifications and experience.

Schedule

This position is considered in-office, and qualified applicants must live within commuting distance of our Boston office location and be present in office 3 days per week.
