Software Development Engineer, AWS Fintech
About the role
Join the AWS Financial Technology Team to build high-performance, globally scalable AWS Financial systems that support Amazon's current and future growth. This role offers the opportunity to drive innovation using Amazon's AWS cloud services and ensure a positive customer experience. You will design and develop the next generation of distributed, scalable financial systems, handling global financial transactions worth billions (USD) annually.
A Software Development Engineer (SDE) at Amazon works on real-world problems at a global scale, owns systems end-to-end, and influences technology that impacts hundreds of millions of customers. You will tackle complex challenges in large-scale computing using data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming, all within a fast-paced, agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable financial applications that support manual financial data adjustments and integration with upstream/downstream systems.
- Own end-to-end delivery of assigned components.
- Drive technical decisions and trade-offs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) for new and existing systems.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
Pay
Base salary range: $143,700.00 - $194,400.00 USD annually (Seattle, WA).
Additional compensation may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
