About the role

This role involves managing a financial review tool that offers standardized reporting, anomaly detection, and collaborative capabilities for Finance and Accounting teams to conduct comprehensive evaluations of financial data, transactions, and reports.
Over the next three years, the Magnify platform aims to centralize and automate the Month End Close financial review process, enhancing controllership through a unified review experience. The platform will integrate relevant datasets for analysis and commentary, accelerate the month-end close process, reduce manual activities, and leverage AI/ML-driven features to proactively identify anomalies, generate narratives, and pinpoint drivers across domains. It will also improve the annotation review process, utilize organizational hierarchies for comment management, and provide customizable team-specific views to facilitate seamless collaboration between Finance and Tax teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and build extremely scalable components and features, from strategy formulation to driving the roadmap.
- Develop software on the latest platforms and build analytical workflows.
- Own all aspects of solutions end-to-end through full-stack software development.
- Collaborate with Amazon engineering and business teams globally to plan, design, execute, and implement the platform across multiple geographies.
- Mentor junior engineers and work with sophisticated business customers to achieve optimal results.
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, coding, troubleshooting, testing, code reviews, deployment, and service maintenance.
- Lead project initiatives, influence the team’s long-term vision and strategies, and partner with senior engineers and peers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 1+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) for new and existing systems.
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Experience building complex software systems successfully delivered to customers.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence.
- Experience working with Data & AI-related technologies, including AI/ML, GenAI, Analytics, Database, and/or Storage.

Pay
Base salary range: $143,700.00 - $194,400.00 USD annually (Seattle, WA). Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
