Software Development Engineer

Akkodis is recruiting for a Software Development Engineer for an aerospace manufacturer in the Grand Rapids, MI area. This is an onsite contract position.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software solutions using Python and C#.
• Apply object-oriented programming principles to design and implement robust applications.
• Utilize GitHub for version control and collaborate on code reviews.
• Write and maintain requirements and test procedures for software components.
• Participate in Agile sprints and manage tasks through Rally.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration and compliance with program standards.
• Support occasional on-site activities, including integration and customer meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 2 years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in Python and C#.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming.
• Experience with GitHub, Visual Studio, and VS Code.
• Ability to write requirements and create test procedures.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and sprint planning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace or automotive industries (or adjacent fields).
• Knowledge of Cameo and SmartBear tools.
• Exposure to integration with hardware systems.
• Experience with Rally for task management and Remarks (internal tool for requirements).

Pay

$60.00 to $80.00 per hour, depending on education, experience, and location.
