About the Role

NISC is seeking talented software developers and engineers who are motivated, collaborative, and excited to solve complex challenges. This position is on our iVUE Telecom Bill Calculations Software Development team, which supports the billing process for our Telecom or Broadband Members. Core technologies used on this team include Python, Progress, Linux, Shell Scripting, and C.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support billing software for broadband communication members.
  • Work with raw files (CSV, BAF, etc.) and convert them into billing records.
  • Build out functionality in software to apply taxes and other billing-related items during billing cycles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to research, design, and implement new features.
  • Research, analyze, and resolve moderately complex customer issues and bugs.
  • Unit test and integration test code as needed.
  • Follow all established software development methodologies and procedures.
  • Explore and prototype intelligent agent-based features that enhance user experience or automate workflows.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Generally, requires 1+ years' experience in software development.
  • Proficient with SQL, Progress, C, or other object-oriented languages.
  • Experience with Python or other scripting languages.
  • Experience with Progress OE12 or greater.
  • Experience with Linux OS.
  • Experience with AWS cloud services (e.g., S3, Lambda, EC2, EMR, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch) preferred.
  • Proficient with developing responsive content.
  • Working knowledge of web trends, architecture, and deployment patterns.
  • Experience with Git including branching/merging workflows.
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo.
  • Leverage generative AI tools and technologies to enhance productivity, creativity, and problem-solving.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Science-related field or equivalent experience.

Schedule

  • Hybrid from one of the following office locations: Atlanta, GA; Cedar Rapids, IA; Lake Saint Louis, MO; Mandan, ND.
  • Minimum of 3 days per week in-office, with the ability to work up to 5 days per week from an office location.
  • Required in-office days: Tuesday and Wednesday. The third required day will be chosen by the candidate and their supervisor.
